PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Lyme Board shall conduct a Public Hearing on Wednesday March 11, 2026 at 6:20 p.m. at the Town Municipal Offices located at 12175 NYS RT 12E, Chaumont, NY to consider the adoption of the 2026 Water Rates for the Town’s Water Districts #1 thru #5.
The 2026 tax bills for Town and County (combined) have been mailed. If you do not receive your tax bill in a timely manner, please feel free to call the town office 315-649-2788 or stop by and we can print another one for you. Please note all tax bills are available to view or print online https://jefferson.sdgnys.com/search.aspx.
Tax Bills are due February 2, 2026…….If your tax bill is postmarked by this day we can still accept payment. We advise you to go inside the post office have your envelope stamped.
After February 2, 2026 installment payments are NO longer accepted and penalities and interest will apply.

We have mailed our renewal applications for Low-Income Seniors and Ag Exemptions. Please reach out to the Assessor’s office with questions on how to apply if you would like to submit a new application. We ask that all exemption applications and renewal should be turned in with the proper supporting documentation by February 1st to allow for proper processing time. NYSORPTS has mailed out form RP-5300-WSC to impacted STAR exemption recipients. This form is legitimate and must be filled out and sent back to the state to maintain benefits. If you are questioning the validity of the form you can bring it in to the local office for review only. If you have removed or plan to remove any structures or improvements from your property prior to March 1st, 2026 please notify our office so that we can perform a site inspection and remove them from inventory.

COLLECTOR’S NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That I, Ariana Henderson, Collector of taxes for the Town of Lyme, Jefferson County, New York, have received the Tax Roll and Warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Lyme for the year of 2026 and that I will attend with the roll at the Municipal Building, 12175 NYS Rte 12E, in said Town of Lyme, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for the propose of receiving taxes listed on said roll. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes may be paid on or before February 2, 2026 without interest. On all taxes received after such date there will be added interest of one percentum for each additional month or fraction thereof until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the Jefferson County Treasurer pursuant to law. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE That pursuant to the law, the tax roll of the Town of Lyme will be returned to the County of Jefferson on March 12, 2026.
